Episode 13: Leadership starts with listening; a conversation with Bill Hebert

Bill Hebert, a Naval Academy graduate who lands in the Commercial Real Estate world by happenstance and forges friendships for life, talks about his experiences along the way. He talks about being open-minded when it comes to finding something of meaning in your life. Bill also talks about building strong, highly productive teams by listening to their ideas, giving people the bandwidth to make their own decisions, and supporting them no matter what happens.

I try to hire qualified people and then I give them the bandwidth to be successful. I try to listen when they come to me with ideas or suggestions. Even if it sounds crazy, I want to make sure I’m giving them the benefit of my full consideration. And I’ve also learned so much doing this.
— Bill Hebert
I really care about my team’s success. Because my success is there success.
