Episode 15: Having true grit & forging ahead with Erik Larson

Erik Larson, Founder & Head Coach of Aspen CrossFit, sits down with Sam to talk about reinventing himself, digging deep, and having the grit needed to forge through life with heart. After spending nearly two decades working as an accountant, Erik left that life behind after deciding it was time to “really start living.” A journey that started with the opening of Aspen CrossFit culminated in the completion of the esteemed SealFit Kokoro camp. Through that process, Erik learned to trust the journey that lies ahead. In this podcast, Sam and Erik discuss trials and tribulations - and what it means to have true grit.

Don’t stay in a career that’s killing you just to please someone else.
— Erik Larson
After 15 years, I’ve learned that I’m not defined by my circumstances. No matter what’s going on in my life, having grit is being able to put my feet on the ground, get up, and get on with my day. It’s navigating my life and continuing to forge ahead.
